i was wondering from those of you who have trunks for the historical girls. about how many outfit does each trunk hold and if they hold diff amounts please let me know the name!!! thanks! [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Kirsten's holds all of hers. My homemade version holds all of her outfits and Addy's. Sam and Molly's do not hold as much.
I believe Kit's, Josefina's and Addy's hold the most. I have all their collections in their chests except, of course, for the furniture. Josefina's is large enough to also hold Kaya's clothes comfortably. Kirsten's is very spacious. Her bed fits in her chest as a tray (as far as I know, it's the only one that does this) and I'm not really sure whether the chest holds more with or without that. Sam's and Molly's hold the least although more than I expected when I bought them. I did finally break down and get Felicity's, which is certainly unique in that being historically correct the clothes have to be folded onto shelves. Even so I find it holds more than I thought it would.

I have Samantha's entire collection now and it all fits (with the exception of the furniature of course!) inside. Sam. doesn't fit in there with all of her stuff, but the dresses and accessories themselves will fit. I also have obsessive compulsive disorder, though, so sometimes I'm able to get things a little more tightly packed than the average bear.
Addy's trunk holds all my table cloths (I made a couple of dozen for various occasions to fit the big round table my Dad made for me) and 5 tins of Christmas cookies. I took the tray out and used to use it as a bed for one of the girls.
Sam's steamer trunk holds approximately half a dozen dresses on the hanger side without squashing them much. The three drawers are deep enough to hold her lacey whites folded up in one drawer. The open section on top of the drawers is nice for storing boots, boxes of shoes, etc.
Molly's trunk reminds me of the doll clothes trunk I had when I was a little girl so I had to have it! Actually I bought two. One of them has all the nightgowns and pajamas from the historicals in it and the other has half a dozen of Sam's sailor dresses in the hanger side with Molly's umbrellas stored below them. I use all the drawers for socks, stockings and tights and all the open spaces above for hiking boots, etc.
I use Felicity's clothes press as a china hutch so can't tell how many clothes it would hold. On the top, it stores 3 full Brambly Hedge teasets (12 sets of plates/cups/saucers, 3 teapots, sugar bowls and creamers) plus 2 extra sets of plates/cups/saucers; 5 of Sam's lemonade sets (not including the pitchers, which are too big), and half a dozen antique butter plates that I use for fruit saucers. In one of the two drawers at the bottom, I store 4 of Felicity's flower vases flat, plus all the fans and silk rose bouquets that go with Sam's party. In the other drawer I have half a dozen doll-sized wooden bowls that I bought in Colonial Williamsburg, the wooden serving plate from Kirsten's birthday set and 8 pitchers that hold one individual serving of cream each. I got them in a kitchen store and they're a great size to hold silk flowers for teaparties.
I don't own any of the other trunks. Hope this helps.
I have Samantha's Steamer Trunk.... which hold a lot of her outfits.... so far I've been able to fit every outfit in there, but it is pretty cramped. I use the shelfs to hold books, her doll.... other accesories, and the drawers for undies, shoes, etc. I wish there was a better way to store her hats (I have them underneath the clothing area.
I have another old doll trunk (like Molly's but cheaper and pink). I use this to store Felicity's items, since she doesn't have her clothes press anymore [img]mad.gif[/img] . Someday I am going to become rich and get that freaking clothes press off EBAY!!!!!
Yeah, my old dolls trunk was cheap, and white and pink! Don't knock it. You've probably got an antique there!
